It had been WAY too long since my college roomies and I had gotten together, so we planned a "Broken Arrow weekend" (our street name in college) in Dallas for the Aggie football game. We originally planned on going to the game itself, but after discovering how much tickets were going to be, and acknowledging that we really just all wanted to hang out and chat (which stadium seating at a football game isn't particularly conducive for), we opted out of the game itself and just had a great weekend hanging out!
We decided to meet at the State Fair in the morning so the kids could all play together. They had a great time! Kate wanted the full Texas State Fair experience, so of course opted for the corny dog. I think she'll be a fan for life...
Anna had so much fun playing with Sadie and Kylie, my friend Heather's little girls. Kate was a still a bit young to mix it up with them too much, but I think by next year she'll be pal'ing along right beside them.
Broken Arrow weekend

Trying to get all 5 kids to stand still and look at the camera (especially right before naptime, and after a long morning at the Fair) was evidently completely impossible. But, we did at least capture that all of these cuties were together! The girls had so much fun with Heather's girls, Kylie and Sadie, and Lisa's son, Luke.
The "silly" pose at least got a few more of them looking in the general direction of the camera...we weren't too picky by this point...
Kylie and Anna loved being silly together. And, if you look closely, they weren't the only silly ones at the Fair...
The girls--me, Lisa, Brooke, Heather, and Melissa...
And, we got to be "adults" Saturday night and have a wonderful dinner out. (The boys were there with us too--just not in the pic!). We didn't quite party as hard as we did in college, but had a fabulous dinner, and even went to a bar afterwards! That's pretty hard-partying for us these days...
We also had such a great time staying with my sister for the weekend. As always, Anna and Kate adored playing with their cousins. And, we got to see both Syd and Nat play soccer (not sure where my pics are of that??). A HUGE thanks to my sister and Roger for keeping the girls while we went out on the town!

Susan, you are doing a good job of catching up! I love seeing all the photos, and this post reminds me of how much fun we had in Dallas! xo - Melissa
