To me, life (especially as a kid!) is MUCH too short to not celebrate 1/2 birthdays. Not surprisingly, Anna hasn't taken much convincing to get in on the fun with me. We made the traditional "1/2 cake" for her half birthday, and she wanted to help decorate it this year. I was going to write her name on it, but she was INSISTENT that it needed Kate's name as well. So, I of course obliged, and it kind of became "their" cake.

And, 4 big candles and one little one helped us celebrating Anna turning the "big 4.5"...
